Every language has their favourite colloquial superlative. Today we look at the one of the great German superlatives- Sau
There are a few ways in which sau-sow (female pig) can be used but it is most commonly used as an intensifying comparative as in ‘wie sau”– like a sow

English being derived from a German dialect has kept one saying “sweating like a pig” Ick switze wie ein Schwein. Has anyone ever seen a pig sweat?

Lastly to be more expressive you can use sow in the sense of “wie eine besengte sau” = which can translate to like a lunatic or a madman
“schreien / fahren / rennen wie eine gesengte Sau- like a lunatic”
Dein Sohn ist wie eine besengte Sau gerannt weil seine Nachbarin ihn küssen wollte- Your son ran like a lunatic because his neighbour (female) wanted to kiss him
Er hat geschrien wie eine besengte Sau als sein Bruder ihn in die Brustwarze gezwickt hat- He cried like a lunatic when his brother pinched him
