Welcome to Around the World in Pictures. Our first post from the north of Vietnam.

Every country has beautiful landscapes and sites. But not many can boast world wonders like Halong Bay with it’s iconic domed islands up to 3,000 of them stretched through a bay with turquoise blue water. Don’t forgot the old city of Hanoi, with it’s combination of Chinese past, French colonial buildings, and communist era architecture combined with the modern styles. Close to the border lies the beautiful hillside town of Sapa, where the French used to cool down through the long summer weather. The rice fields and the mountains (my favourite Mt Fansipans [Fancypants}), which are actually the border with China, provide a stunning backdrop.
